eBay Hires Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications

John Donahoe is acting quickly to reorganize eBay, Inc. and I'm starting to see some trends that I like.

eBay announced today that they are hiring Alan Marks to be the new Sr. Vice President of Corporate Communications: "Reporting to President and CEO John Donahoe, Marks will be responsible for leading the communications strategies for all areas of the company, including business and consumer media relations, employee communications, executive positioning and issues and reputation management. Marks will join eBay’s executive staff." (bold is mine)

Corporate Communications has been a huge weakness at eBay, IMO and it is time somebody takes charge of eBay's message to investors, business, consumers, employees, sellers and the media. eBay needs to re-invigorate the brand. I am hopeful that we will see a more open and honest eBay in the future - well as honest as a corporation can be.

I am cautiously optimistic that this new hire will be a positive for eBay and its varied interests.

Just my 12%
