Basically - this is what I've been saying. The sales and prices next year will be absolutely stunning as the retailers will try to keep their heads above water - if only to break even. First quarter we will see a LOT of layoffs as companies downsize to try to weather the economic storm. It will be interesting to see how Ebay weathers all of this. They don't seem to have the advantage the brick and mortar stores have...a management team with sales experience. Inexperienced MBA's - no matter how smart - just won't cut it. Amazon will have a tough road too but they seem to have a smart team so I think they stand a better chance.
Its going to be a "dog eat dog" year. I've been thru this before but never to the level they say this recession is going to go.
Merry Christmas everyone! I just couldn't resist posting this. My last post:

Well, just heard on the radio that a local furniture store (that's Lenders, Randy) is offering $600.00 in gas and $500.00 in free groceries if you buy a big screen TV from them! The big screen TV is 1388! Its starting already and I will be interested to see how ecommerce can fight back.
