Empower sellers and get out of the way!
Randy Smythe's musings on the world of ecommerce, social networking, Web 2.0, Google, Amazon, Buy.com,Yahoo, Squidoo, online marketing and still probably a lot of stuff about eBay.
Good work, my friend. I admire your blog and your attitude! If only ebay had fixed the shipping/handling for dvds/cds YEARS AGO, much of this brouha would have been unecessary. The market wouldn't have become so whored out...I offered free/low shipping for music & movies on ebay back when it actually meant something, now it's too little, too late. Oh well, alot of ebay media sellers can use all of the last several years experience to go work for the Costco Corporation....they sure admire the Costco model enough. Ebay media sellers: circa: 2005-2008 meant: Only volume sales matters, not even fair (if any) customer service (or even being able to fill orders for all those obscure UPCs they list as "In stock" or sent by "Expedited Shipping"....sheesh...I'm curious enough to watch how things play out, but not that much. Buyers should all just go to Deep Discount now. Cheap prices WITH customer service and no illusions about fill time for the order....
What a cobbled together hopeless mess.[Of course I haven't had time to assimilate it all].
[Thanks for sitting in the San Jose offices! That should go on that "Dirty Jobs" show. I hope there was free coffee and bagels for you all. I would get my clothes dry-cleaned to get the smells out. You may have to throw them all away though...]
